How big are your Durango vacation homes?

Our vacation homes range from one to six bedrooms and accommodate between two and twenty guests. Most properties are three- or four-bedroom homes. The largest homes include Engineer House 487 at Purgatory, which sleeps twenty guests, Elk Meadows Family Retreat, which sleeps eighteen, and Curry Barn, which sleeps fourteen.

Do I get the entire house to myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every vacation home is rented as an entire property. Guests have exclusive use of the home, including the kitchen, laundry facilities, yard, and parking areas. There are no shared entrances and no other guests staying in the property.

Can I bring my dog?

Accepted Answer

Usually, yes. Seventeen of our twenty-seven vacation homes are pet friendly, and most allow up to two dogs. Pet fees, limits, and policies vary by property and are listed on each rental's page.

Which homes work for two families traveling together?

Accepted Answer

Four- and six-bedroom homes with multiple living spaces are often ideal for two families. Popular options include Durango Valley Retreat and Hacienda House, which each sleep twelve guests, and Paradise On Coon Creek, which sleeps ten.

How far are the homes from downtown Durango?

Accepted Answer

Distances vary by property. Some homes, such as 5th Avenue Cottage, are about one mile from downtown. Many homes in the Durango Valley area are within a few miles of Main Avenue, while properties near Purgatory Resort are approximately twenty-five miles north of town. The Sanctuary in Dolores is about thirty-five miles west of Durango.

Do any of the homes have a garage?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Several homes include a private garage, which can be especially useful during winter. Most homes also provide driveway parking.

Question 7

Are the hot tubs private?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When a vacation home includes a hot tub, it is private to the property and exclusively available to guests staying there.

How and where do I check in?

Accepted Answer

Guests check in directly at the property using a door code or lockbox. Approximately 30 days before arrival, guests receive a welcome email with the property address and access information once the rental agreement is signed and the balance has been paid in full. Standard check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 10:00 AM.

What deposit is required to book?

Accepted Answer

Reservations made more than 60 days before arrival require a 50% deposit of the total rental cost. Reservations made within 60 days of arrival require full payment at the time of booking.

Do you rent homes for longer than a few weeks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer monthly rental options for guests needing accommodations for an extended stay, such as relocation, remote work, or home renovation projects. These properties are intended for longer stays but are not year-round unfurnished housing or traditional long-term leases.
